Pirming nakatakud sakuya’
na garu bagang minudensiya
na guyod ko sa liwanag kan bulan.

Natiti’makan ko, natutungtungan
alagad siya silensiyo, mayong ribok
na nagsusunod sakuya’ saen man
ako magduman, sa paglakaw ko
sa bangging bulanon.

Nagliliwat an saiyang korte
sa paghiro-hiro’ ko, alagad

dai ko siya mapugulan
dai ko siya makaputan
dai ko siya makupo’
dai ko siya mada’ug
dai ko siya ma’iwaltak.

Sagkod na

ako nagpasiring
sa pusod nin kadikloman
kun ha’en siya natunaw
naki-saro’ siya sa itom kan diklom

asin ako, bilog niyang hinalun!

MY SHADOW

ever by me,
it trails like entrails
tracking me in fluid motion
as I wander in the moonlight;

my silent stalker
in the stillness of night;
misshapen figure
changing form as I move;

i cannot catch or clutch,
i cannot grasp or clasp,
i cannot beat or defeat;

until

i move into absolute darkness
where it melts (becoming one)
with the utter blackness,

swallowing me whole!

– between
my shadow and me
are my shoes.

– between
shadow and light
is matter.
